Jeramy Paxton in a Nutshell

Hello there, thank you for your interest in my work.

My journey into photography started with a yearning for change close to seven years ago. Living in the same town my entire life started to take a toll on me in the form of a deep need to see more of the world. My wife and I saved over the next few years for the amazing and scary day that we both quit our jobs and journeyed outward to find our new place in this world. The goal was to leave the kids with family and explore the Southern US to find our perfect place. People thought I was crazy, heck they still do, but true to my we left Missouri with nothing but the dream of finding somewhere I belong and a meager savings.

Great Plan Poor Execution!

During the saving stage we made a list of all the cities and States that interested us, the plan was to spend a few days in each and decide what was the best fit at the end of the journey. Man did we hose that up. Trip planned, all loaded up to see the US and we got as far as Austin Texas! It took a whopping two days driving around looking at homes, exploring the local sights and meeting the people here to know we didn’t need to go any further. After a quick 14 hour trip back North we started loading moving vans, rented a temporary home online and set out to make a new life.

Living on Faith

The first few months were a little rough, I’m not going to sugar coat it. I had been an industrial machinist for most of my career and desperately wanted to try something else. Regretfully we underestimated the job market here and both struggled to find any work, let alone decent paying work. After three-four months of not working I had enough and threw my name back into the machining hat. As expected I found decent paying work rather quickly and started making enough to support our life style here. Though I wasn’t happy to be back in industry I could support my family and we were happy with our new surroundings.

But this is a Photography Bio, Where did that all Start

Fast forward a few years and I finally broke out of machining! I was blessed with a position in flight simulations that had me traveling all over the world 250+ days a year. The work was interesting but the opportunity to travel for free was just too much to pass up. After a few months traveling from State to State I got the photography bug . . . . and BAD! My well traveled Canon Rebel T3I took the blunt of my new found hobby. In the beginning I shot EVERYTHING. I have files filled with my humble beginnings that I can’t even recognize lol. It took some time but after a lot of cold calls and late night messages I started finding people interested in helping me reach the potential that I knew I had. I am eternally grateful for their patience, advice and time. I know all too well how valuable a photographer/editor’s time is, it still amazes me that these talented, successful and extremely professional individuals invested their time and expertise into someone they barely knew. One of my deepest desires is for them to see one of my images someday and laugh to themselves “holy crap, that’s from that eager and overly energetic young man that messaged me relentlessly so many years ago.”

This brings us to the present where after speaking with so many amazing and talented artists I’m ready to start my photography journey full time. Through hardships and lose the deep rooted desire to create beautiful imagery has not only persisted but grown. I ADORE collaborating with people to create unique and inspiring works. Possessing the talent, skill and drive my only question is this “Will you be a part of this journey with me?”
